Just like the other teams, the Tennessee Titans have already prepared their teams for the season. By now, almost all but one spot has already been filled on the team rosters. This week is nevertheless quite exciting for the Titans. The excitement is not more about the week four preseason game though. Even though you can always find some interesting buzz around the games, the storylines are pretty much predictable. For now, it might not be possible to determine the Titans odds for preseason as of yet but there are a couple of things happening that should attract you.
For a start, the lineup of the team might just change in the course of the week. About three players might join the Titans and this will be interesting to watch. Indeed, most fans might be looking to see how the preseason game will affect the player positions as the new season is set to start. It is always exciting to watch players make some major plays which in turn affect the occupation of the spots, but even more exciting is seeing how new players affect the team.
The reason why some new talent might make it into the Titans camp is all because of the timing. Every year at this time, teams are obliged to resize the teams from 90 to 53. When these adjustments happen, a complete overview of the team becomes necessary. Over 1,200 players are part of those that will be eligible for the downsizing. Much of the team composition will undoubtedly remain the same, but it is clear that some depth will be sought from other quarters. Looking at past events, the trend is quite easy to establish. Josh Kline, for instance, made it to the team from New England Patriots as a waiver claim.
This tradition has continued with the acquisition of Kony Ealy and Briean Boddy-Calhoun among others. Even though such players do not have a great impression by themselves, they ultimately contribute to a stronger team. There is definitely a need to have a safety and somebody at the defensive line at the Titans. It might not be the main mission of the team right now, but it will not be surprising if the Titans go for one or two players for these positions. Other than that, this week is usually among the busiest in terms of trade. It is expected that minor and major changes might happen and this has also been alluded by some players already.
There is no other time in the preseason when the management is actively engaged in making quick moves before Week 1. It is accurate to assume that Jon Robinson is currently involved in deals as he tries to get on board any players that might have impressed him. Not only that, but others are also making calls to him to try and get some talent from this camp. It is for this reason that the Titans are at a very exciting juncture in the preseason. Every team is currently doing everything they can to make shrewd moves just before the final preseason week and the start of the season. A lot will happen as the moves that the Titans intend to make unfold.
